The fulfillment of helping someone get their license is gratifying.
— Jesse

After researching two other truck schools, Jesse decided that Western Pacific Truck School was the best choice. He graduated in 1998 and found a job within a few days.

Jesse hauled scrap metal to the Bay Area for a few months before driving fuel tankers for Flying J. Next, he worked for Blue Rhino for 2 1/2 years before suffering a non-work related arm injury that forced him to take a break.

That break was a blessing in disguise. Jesse came to work as an instructor for Western Pacific Truck School. His plan was to teach driving courses until his arm healed, but he fell in love with instructing, helping students earn their commercial drivers’ licenses.

Jesse says, “While I was recovering I really missed driving. The fulfillment of helping someone get his license was gratifying and.... well it's been 20 years and here I am still helping!”

Three things you didn’t know about Jesse:

  • Always drives the exact speed limit—no more, no less

  • Traveled southeast Asia on foot with a group of Shaolin monks

  • Has a secret dolphin tattoo somewhere on his body
